SUMMARY:BCAC Members Gallery Show & Artist of the Month
DESCRIPTION:Friday\, December 1st from 5 – 7pm\, we will be holding the BCAC Members Gallery in addition to our Artist of the Month\, featuring baskets and sculptures made with natural materials by Amber Jarvis. This monthly event is free and open to the public. To read more about the artist or learn how to submit pieces of art for the BCAC Members Gallery\, visit our website at Artist of the Month. \nAmber Jarvis- Foraging and scavenging have been steadfast bridges for uniting space and spirit in my lifelong search for home. Eyes to the ground I explored 15 states before finding home here on the Oregon Coast\, where the beaches\, forests\, and waterways supply shifting waves of inspiring materials for exploring texture\, tension\, and interconnectivity.  Through a class taught by Kathleen Kanas I discovered how basketry intertwines my creative history. My love of herbology\, fiber arts\, collage\, and sculpture can be expressed with one voice\, and the creative journey is renewed. Every scent is a story\, every sound is a song. @bespokenomens

SUMMARY:October Artist of the Month
DESCRIPTION: Friday October 6th from 5-7pm\, our main floor and upstairs gallery will feature artwork by local artists Eric Sappington & Brittany Sheffield. This monthly event is free and open to the public. \nEric Sappington: I’ve lived on the Oregon coast for the last 27 years. I moved here from the Midwest to be inspired in my songwriting as well as my art. I paint whatever emotions I have in the moment I have been working on\, or working through. Most of the time I don’t think about what I’m painting\, I just do it. This can turn into a series or just a one off abstract blow out. The show is all about transitioning. Let’s see where it takes me.  \nBrittany Sheffield: I am a 33 year old wife and mother of four. I was born and raised in Tillamook. Art has always been a passion of mine even from a young age. This past year I started getting back into painting as an outlet and way to relax between work\, kids and school. I’ve really enjoyed finding things that have challenged me creatively. \n

SUMMARY:Concert: Sofia Talvik LIVE at Tillamook County Library
DESCRIPTION:Sofia Talvik is a rare artist and an avid storyteller with a voice comparable to giants like Joni Mitchell\, or as the Folk/Americana Magazine NoDepression said it ”A singer/songwriter who is able to evoke the essence of Laurel Canyon circa the ‘60s as expressed in the work of Joni Mitchell\, Judy Collins\, Buffy Sainte-Marie and others who were able to paint beautiful tapestries from words and music.”. \nPrepare yourself for an unique and intimate evening\, not unlike the 70’s coffeehouses and speakeasy’s. You will be up close and personal with a world class act that has played big festivals like Lollapalooza and SxSW and opened for artists like Maria McKee and David Duchovny (X-files\, Californication). It is in this kind of setting where she can casually joke and communicate with the audience that her strength as a performer shines the most. \nHer delicate songs are performed in an intimate way\, showing off Sofia’s angelic voice enhanced only by a tasteful mix of harmonies and delays\, accompanied by the steady picking of her acoustic guitar and the rhythm section consisting of her own two feet\, bells and a stomp box. \n2020 was the year when Swedish singer/songwriter Sofia Talvik was going on tour to promote her new album Paws of a Bear\, but that all went down the drain when the world was hit with the Covid pandemic. In 2022 she could finally play the songs live for all the people who had waited for it\, and this year she’s releasing her new album “Center of the Universe” along with playing a whopping 50+ Summer and Fall dates all over the U.S.
