SUMMARY:Find the Eye – Treasure Hunt! $5\,000 prize
DESCRIPTION:Tillamook Vision Center is sponsoring the 2nd annual Find the Eye Treasure Hunt.  Opening day is Friday August 30th when shirts will be available to pickup and the first clues will start going out.  We have hidden a glass eye trophy out somewhere on public lands of Tillamook county and the first person to find it will win a prize.  If you are registered for the event and wearing your T-shirt you win the full $5\,000 prize; if you are not registered or wearing your shirt\, you can still hunt\, but the prize is lower at $1\,500. \nTo register and read all the rules\, boundaries and clues: \nHome \nFollow clues on the Tillamook Vision Center and Find the Eye Facebook and Instagram pages.

SUMMARY:Summer Music Series: Phoenix
DESCRIPTION:Phoenix to perform in the 2024 Summer Music Series at the Maxwell Park Library Stage at the Tillamook Main Library on Friday\, August 30th at noon. \nThe American folk pop duo Phoenix consists of award-winning songwriters Tim and Kathy Crosby – who have been performing together for well over 2 decades.  Together they have collaborated on several CD’s and are known far and wide for their songwriting abilities and entertainment style. \nTim and Kathy have performed together from Las Vegas to Nashville\, in venues large and small.  Being compared to the likes of Willie Nelson\, Gillian Welch\, and David Rawlings\, Mary Travers\, and June Carter Cash – Phoenix rises in the joy of a sound that highlights the multi-instrumental talents of both musicians while focusing on a variety of vocal styles and abilities. \nKnown as the “talent” of the duo as he is proficient on any instrument with strings\, Tim Crosby spends his days teaching a variety of students the joy of playing a musical instrument.  His private classes take place in both Salem and Corvallis Oregon. \nThe “personality” of the couple is Kathy Crosby\, who not only manages Phoenix\, but spends her days teaching piano lessons in the Salem\, Oregon area.  In addition to this she is a GrammyU Mentor\, writer\, public speaker\, consultant\, and musical advocate.  Currently she serves as the President of the Oregon Festival and Events Association. \nIn their current configuration\, Phoenix has released two full-length albums\, Rise and Viewpoint\, along with the single Calamity Blues.  Their music has not only won numerous awards\, but has been featured on several specialty shows\, including BWH’s “Her Voice\, The Indie Radio Network\, Indie Top Chart\, and Women of Substance Radio (WOS) “Music with a Conscience”

Explore the full 2024 series at this link. \nWith its winding trails through rolling dunes to the Pacific Ocean\, Lesley Miller Dunes Meadow Park in Gearhart\, Oregon is the site for this mini series of coastal concerts on August 30 and 31. The piano will be situated on the grass at the west end of the park. Concert check-in opens at 4:00 pm\, and the performance begins at 5:00 pm.
