SUMMARY:Find the Eye – Treasure Hunt! $5\,000 prize
DESCRIPTION:Tillamook Vision Center is sponsoring the 2nd annual Find the Eye Treasure Hunt.  Opening day is Friday August 30th when shirts will be available to pickup and the first clues will start going out.  We have hidden a glass eye trophy out somewhere on public lands of Tillamook county and the first person to find it will win a prize.  If you are registered for the event and wearing your T-shirt you win the full $5\,000 prize; if you are not registered or wearing your shirt\, you can still hunt\, but the prize is lower at $1\,500. \nTo register and read all the rules\, boundaries and clues: \nHome \nFollow clues on the Tillamook Vision Center and Find the Eye Facebook and Instagram pages.

DESCRIPTION:Netarts Bay Beach and Bayside Cleanup with SOLVE and Friends of Netarts Bay WEBS  \nSaturday\, September 21st\, 2024  \nJoin SOLVE\, Friends of Netarts Bay WEBS (www.netartsbaywebs.org)\, Oceanside Surf Co./Current Cafe\, Netarts Oceanside Fire\, and other Tillamook County partners to clean up the areas around Netarts and Oceanside on Saturday\, September 21st\, from 10 AM – 1 PM.  \nFriends of Netarts Bay WEBS members and their partners have been working with SOLVE to host cleanups in the area from Cape Lookout to Cape Meares to Bay Ocean for over a decade.  \nJoin them this year and help protect marine life and maintain the beauty of our coast. This beach cleanup is family-friendly\, dog-friendly\, and volunteers of all ages will find the event fun and rewarding.  \nRemember\, ocean shores can be dangerous. Avoid logs in the water. Keep your distance from marine mammals\, and never turn your back on the ocean! If you find any hazardous material\, please alert the Beach Cleanup Captain. And remember\, it’s more fun to work as part of a team. Bring a buddy\, stay safe\, and have fun!  \nAdvanced registration saves time but is not required. Feel free to bring tools (recycled trash bags\, buckets\, etc.) if available and a reusable water bottle to support our sustainability efforts. \nWhat’s Provided: Trash bags and gloves are available to all volunteers at check-in. A small supply of trash grabbers can be loaned. If you have your own\, please bring them.  \nRestrooms: Public restrooms are available at the check-in locations.  \nParking: Parking at check-in is limited however people usually move in and out quickly. A day pass will be provided to any volunteer cleaning sections of the beach requiring parking in a fee parking lot.  \nTransit: There is a nearby bus stop to the check-in location. Notably\, Tillamook County ranks third highest in the state for single-parent households. \nFrom 12pm to 3pm\, attendees will enjoy a catered lunch and childcare services\, followed by a resource fair featuring an array of gifts\, complimentary services\, and discounts generously provided by local businesses. Our goal is simple: to ensure every parent feels valued and supported. \nThere are several ways you can participate and support this initiative: \n\nResource Fair: If your organization offers services beneficial to parents\, we invite you to participate. Please email me directly to reserve your spot.\nGift Contributions: Consider donating items for our gift packages\, which include everything from gift cards to essential services.
