DESCRIPTION:In collaboration with Yad Vashem\, the World Holocaust Remembrance Center &  the Oregon Jewish Museum and Center for Holocaust Education\, the Tillamook Air Museum presents the grand opening and ribbon cutting of its newest exhibit titled “Spots of Light: Women in the Holocaust.” Opening on Sunday\, April 28th\, and beginning at 1:00PM\, we are honored to feature Holocaust survivor Eva Aigner who will share her compelling first-hand account of survival and perseverance amid one of the darkest chapters of human history. Eva’s narrative serves as a poignant testament to the enduring strength of the human spirit in the face of unimaginable adversity. Additionally\, Sue Johnson\, Eva’s daughter\, will recount the moving story of her father (Eva’s husband)\, Leslie Aigner\, and his experience as a survivor of the Auschwitz Concentration Camp\, providing a multi-generational perspective on the lasting impact of the Holocaust. At the conclusion of their program\, Eva & Sue will take questions and will help us to inaugurate our newest exhibit. \nThe grand opening and talk by Eva & Sue is FREE of charge to the public. DESCRIPTION:The Tillamook County Pioneer Association is proud to celebrate their 90th Anniversary (1934-2024) – Building Community Through History. Join us to celebrate this achievement\, to continue to educate about our history and unite together\, sharing stories into the future. \nFrom May 1 – 31 there will be an exhibit on display at the Tillamook County Pioneer Museum guiding you on a journey through the past 90 years of our association. \nAlthough the exhibit opens on May 1st\, there will be a GRAND OPENING of the exhibit on Saturday\, May 4th  from 1 to 4 pm with board members to visit with and refreshments to enjoy. \nThere will also be this picture of the founding members. We can’t identify all the faces. Maybe you can help us identify your ancestors? \nFormation of Tillamook Pioneer Association\, May 25\, 1934\nThe association idea to preserve our Tillamook County history started at a birthday party for Rhoda Quick Johnson in 1934. Rhoda loved lemon pie so our refreshments will assuredly have a lemon theme! \nTCPA 90th Anniversary Celebration – May\, 2024 – Building Community Through History \n\nAll Pioneers should have received an invitation in the mail to the 90th Anniversary Exhibit\nAlong with the invitation you’ll also receive a “Golden Ticket”. DESCRIPTION:The Nehalem Bay Garden Club’s annual plant sale will be held as usual on Mother’s Day weekend.  Please note the sale ends at noon on Sunday. \nLocation of the sale is 43080 Northfork Rd\, Nehalem at the junction of Hwy 53 and Northfork Rd with horse statues in the front yard and real horses in the back yard! Start on North Fork Rd at the blinking light in Nehalem and go 5 miles to the end of N Fork Road.  The sale is on the left. \nAvailable at reasonable prices will be all kinds of plants:  hanging baskets\, planters with colorful flowers\, perennials\, annuals\, vegetables\, tomatoes\, shrubs\, trees\, and houseplants among others. \nAlso on offering will be Mother’s Day gifts and a raffle.  Raffle tickets are $5 each or 6 for $20. \nWhile you shop on Saturday only\, bring your children so they can create wee succulent gardens as commitments to Planet Earth — and possibly Mothers’ Day gifts.   All materials provided. \nWe encourage you to pay with cash or check and to round up!  Nehalem Bay Garden Club donates proceeds from the sale to local organizations that share the Club’s mission.  Past recipients include Food Roots\, Hoffman Gardens\, Alder Creek Farm\, Tillamook Early Learning Center\, Tillamook Chamber Comm Foundation\, North County Food Bank\, Nehalem Bay United Methodist Church for their food programs\, Nehalem Elementary Garden Program\, and the mural at Nehalem City Park. \nAnd while you are in the neighborhood\, Aldervale Native Plants is having an open house on Saturday\, May 11th  from 9-4 across the road from the Garden Club sale.  43005 North Fork Rd.
