DESCRIPTION:The dramatic Broadway play Agnes of God will be performed at the North County Recreation District Performing Arts Center in Nehalem from August 25th to September 10th. \nThe production is being presented by Rising Tide Productions\, and directed by George Dzundza\, professional veteran of theater\, film\, and television. It features local actors Kenia Goodman as Sister Agnes Devereaux\, Cameron Lira as Doctor Martha Livingston\, and Susi Brown as Mother Miriam Ruth \nBased on a true incident\, Agnes of God opened on Broadway in March 1982 and ran for 599 performances. In 1985\, it was released as an American neo-noir mystery film starring Jane Fonda\, Anne Bancroft\, and Meg Tilly. \nTickets are $20 at the door. Returning Artists who will be showing are: Michael Soeby (pottery)\, Dana Hulburt (acrylic painting)\, Victor Guschov (painting)\, Barb Haddad (ceramics)\, Alita Pearl (silver jewelry and leather)\, Kent and Nancy Searles (lapidary\, wire wrapping\, ceramics)\, Nancy McEwen (painting)\, Tim Moore (Photography) and Denise Clausen (quilting and calligraphy)\, and Catherine Hingson (oil painting). New artists to join the show are Brendan Alex Phoenix (photographic art)\, Patti Hoffert (watercolor\, pastels\, oils) Taylor Blackman (Mixed Media) and Candace Churchly (book arts and mixed media). \nNVA is a well-known local artists’ collective which has been supporting local arts projects since 1993.
