SUMMARY:Netarts Bay Area Cleanup
DESCRIPTION:Join SOLVE\, Friends of Netarts Bay WEBS (www.netartsbaywebs.org)\, and Tillamook County at the Netarts Bay Boat Ramp (2065 Netarts Boat Basin Road\, Netarts\, OR) from 10 AM – 1 PM for a shoreline cleanup! \nFriends of Netarts Bay WEBS members and our partners have been working with SOLVE to host cleanups in the area from Cape Lookout to Cape Meares to Bay Ocean for over a decade. Join us this year and help us protect marine life and maintain the beauty of our coast. \nDon’t forget about the small stuff! The most commonly found items of trash found on Oregon beaches are tiny bits of plastic and cigarette butts\, which can be harmful to shorebirds and marine life. Bring an old colander to sift the sand for these items. \nThis beach cleanup is family-friendly\, and volunteers of all ages will find the event fun and rewarding. \nRemember our ocean shores can be dangerous. Avoid logs in the water. Keep your distance from marine mammals\, and never turn your back on the ocean! If you find any hazardous material\, please alert your Beach Captain. And remember\, it’s more fun to work as part of a team. Bring a buddy\, stay safe\, and have fun! \nRegistration is required for this event. SUMMARY:Concert: Sofia Talvik LIVE at Tillamook County Library
DESCRIPTION:Sofia Talvik is a rare artist and an avid storyteller with a voice comparable to giants like Joni Mitchell\, or as the Folk/Americana Magazine NoDepression said it ”A singer/songwriter who is able to evoke the essence of Laurel Canyon circa the ‘60s as expressed in the work of Joni Mitchell\, Judy Collins\, Buffy Sainte-Marie and others who were able to paint beautiful tapestries from words and music.”. \nPrepare yourself for an unique and intimate evening\, not unlike the 70’s coffeehouses and speakeasy’s. You will be up close and personal with a world class act that has played big festivals like Lollapalooza and SxSW and opened for artists like Maria McKee and David Duchovny (X-files\, Californication). It is in this kind of setting where she can casually joke and communicate with the audience that her strength as a performer shines the most. \nHer delicate songs are performed in an intimate way\, showing off Sofia’s angelic voice enhanced only by a tasteful mix of harmonies and delays\, accompanied by the steady picking of her acoustic guitar and the rhythm section consisting of her own two feet\, bells and a stomp box. \n2020 was the year when Swedish singer/songwriter Sofia Talvik was going on tour to promote her new album Paws of a Bear\, but that all went down the drain when the world was hit with the Covid pandemic. In 2022 she could finally play the songs live for all the people who had waited for it\, and this year she’s releasing her new album “Center of the Universe” along with playing a whopping 50+ Summer and Fall dates all over the U.S.

SUMMARY:First Time Homebuyer Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Curious about buying a home?\nTired of the instability of renting?\nNot sure how a mortgage works or whether you’re ready?\nFreaked out by the process?\nBuying a house is a huge leap- some people describe themselves as scared\, overwhelmed by the process\, not sure where to start\, or worried they won’t qualify. This workshop is designed to meet you where you are: even if that’s a few years away from making the leap.\nTogether\, Denise and Sierra will introduce the process\, explaining the roles of real estate agent and lender\, what you’ll need to have ready for each step: prequalification\, making an offer\, loan application\, escrow\, and closing. We’ll run through some real time scenarios with properties that are currently on the market\, and would be happy to talk out any questions or scenarios that you’re going through. Registration is not required\, and attending the workshop is not a commitment of any kind.\nDenise Prothe is a Senior Loan Officer with Guild Mortgage\, whose experience with lending in Oregon and in rural communities makes her an invaluable resource for her clients. Whether you are ready now or wondering what steps you can start to make now to best position you\, Denise is an incredible resource\, and this is a great chance to meet her.\nSierra Lauder is a licensed Real Estate Broker in the State of Oregon\, working with Coast Real Estate Professionals. Relocating to Tillamook County almost 20 years ago\, Sierra spent almost 12 years on rural farm acreage in south county before moving in to the walk-able heart of downtown Tillamook. While Team Headquarters (the Coast Real Estate Professionals Office) is located in Nehalem\, Sierra is happy to explore homes with you all along the north coast\, and her priority is that you find the best fit for your family.
