During this event\, Brian will give a short presentation on gathering native vegetation and materials\, processing\, and basket making\, along with how he learned to make baskets. After the introduction\, he will guide participants in making a small basket from start to finish using native plant material. \nBrian has 15+ years of experience as a tribal educator. Brian is a member of the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde and his tribal lineage descends from the Nipissing band of Ojibway\, Chinook\, Luckiamute Kalapuya\, Umpqua\, Iroquois\, Shasta\, Tillamook\, Takilma\, Mary’s River Kalapuya\, German\, Irish and Spanish. \nMeeting Location: Netarts Community Club. \nCost: There is no cost to attend this program.
