DESCRIPTION:August 19th & 20th from 10am- 4pm\, join us for our Discovery in Stone. Our workshop allows participants\, with no experience needed\, to learn the ancient practice of hand carving stone. Tuition is by donation\, drop-ins welcome\, instructors on hand\, and all materials are provided! Please plan to bring your own lunch or visit a local place. If the weather is nice\, we’ll tap-tap-tap the days away outside – otherwise we’ll move onto the porches or into the art room. Share with a friend – it’s such a unique experience that’s both meditative and revealing. Get to know a stone and discover what it has to show to you! Tuition is by donation. DESCRIPTION:Tillamook’s Second Annual Overdose Awareness Day will be held at the Blue Heron in Tillamook\, Oregon on Thursday August 31st from 4pm-7pm. This annual campaign aims to end overdose\, remember without stigma those who have died\, and acknowledge the grief of the family and friends left behind. Come explore our resource fair with local organizations that support ending overdoses right here in Tillamook county. There will be crafts and activities for all ages. Free food provided by the Food Trailer at the Blue Heron for first 100 folks that arrive and we are excited to have musical guest Eric Sappington and Mercury Coast. Wear purple to the event to show support!

Click the link below to get your FREE tickets today! \nSpecial guest presenter Dan Petkunas an F-4 pilot and Weapons Officer\, will present on his 222 combat missions in Vietnam\, culminating in the Christmas Bombings of 1972.  \nIf fighter pilots and crew members have nine lives\, Dan Petkunas expended at least seven of them during his combat tour. \nIn 1972\, Dan was assigned to the 13th Tactical Fighter Squadron at Udorn Royal Thai Air Base in Thailand and began flying bombing runs and missions to protect other aircraft\, including B-52 bombers\, A-7s\, F-105s\, and additional F-4s. As a Weapons System Officer\, Petkunas controlled the F-4’s back seat\, working in tandem with the pilot. \nDan came back from his tour of duty with the Distinguished Flying Cross\, other medals and devices\, join Dan and hear about the air war in Vietnam during its final year.
