DESCRIPTION:Mark your calendars for the first Saturday in June and get ready for non-stop fun on the Nehalem Bay! \nScheduled to coincide with Free Fishing Weekend\, the Crab Derby is a fundraising event for two local charities – the MuddNick Foundation of Manzanita\, OR – whose mission is to broaden the horizons of deserving children in greater Nehalem Bay and North Tillamook County and Animal Haven By The Sea Rescue in Nehalem\, OR – dedicated to helping animals that are lost\, in distress\, in need of a home\, food or medical attention and are the only animal rescue in North Tillamook County. Hosted by Kelly’s Brighton Marina\, this unique event is one of the favorite summer activites for outdoor enthusiasts and families alike! \nKelly’s Brighton Marina will release 26 tagged crabs on Saturday and a $10 per ticket entry fee is required to participate in the Crab Derby\, with proceeds from ticket sales going to the sponsored charities. All captured tagged crabs must be returned to the marina by 5:00pm and a drawing will be held to determine the top prize of $1\,000 cash. Live music\, games\, crafts\, many great vendors\, raffles\, and a wide array of prizes round out an exciting event that we hope will become an annual tradition for all who attend! \n… \nAn event of this magnitude is not possible without the generosity and support of the entire community. Volunteers\, gift basket items\, and donated prizes are always greatly appreciated. DESCRIPTION:The Nehalem Bay Garden Club’s annual plant sale will be held as usual on Mother’s Day weekend.  Please note the sale ends at noon on Sunday. \nLocation of the sale is 43080 Northfork Rd\, Nehalem at the junction of Hwy 53 and Northfork Rd with horse statues in the front yard and real horses in the back yard! Start on North Fork Rd at the blinking light in Nehalem and go 5 miles to the end of N Fork Road.  The sale is on the left. \nAvailable at reasonable prices will be all kinds of plants:  hanging baskets\, planters with colorful flowers\, perennials\, annuals\, vegetables\, tomatoes\, shrubs\, trees\, and houseplants among others. \nAlso on offering will be Mother’s Day gifts and a raffle.  Raffle tickets are $5 each or 6 for $20. \nWhile you shop on Saturday only\, bring your children so they can create wee succulent gardens as commitments to Planet Earth — and possibly Mothers’ Day gifts.   All materials provided. \nWe encourage you to pay with cash or check and to round up!  Nehalem Bay Garden Club donates proceeds from the sale to local organizations that share the Club’s mission.  Past recipients include Food Roots\, Hoffman Gardens\, Alder Creek Farm\, Tillamook Early Learning Center\, Tillamook Chamber Comm Foundation\, North County Food Bank\, Nehalem Bay United Methodist Church for their food programs\, Nehalem Elementary Garden Program\, and the mural at Nehalem City Park. \nAnd while you are in the neighborhood\, Aldervale Native Plants is having an open house on Saturday\, May 11th  from 9-4 across the road from the Garden Club sale.  43005 North Fork Rd.
