The auction features two dozen creative\, delicious\, and impressive pies from local bakers\, chefs\, and restaurants. And after the auction\, there will be a pie and ice cream feast–fruit pies\, custard pies\, savory pies\, vegan pies\, gluten-free pies\, and various pies-but-not-pies – all of them will be at this event! In addition\, the incredible Liz Cole will kick off the festivities with her traditional and always compelling performance of “Ode to Pie.” (See her 2020 rendition at  \nhttps://youtu.be/ujcux-3WPhc ) \nJoin your community on Saturday\, January 27st! Doors open at 2:30 pm and the auction starts at 3. DESCRIPTION:Our 19th annual Festival of Trees Gala and Silent Auction is just around the corner! We’re thrilled to be bringing this incredible holiday community event back to the museum on Friday\, December 8\, 2023. The event will be held from 5:30-8:30pm with drinks\, hors d’oeuvres\, and general merriment surrounded by beautifully decorated trees. All proceeds go to support the Tillamook County Pioneer Museum and its mission to preserve and interpret the cultural and natural history of Tillamook county and the north Oregon coast. Admission will be free to the museum all week\, and tickets to the Friday night gala will be available for purchase starting November 1 online\, over the phone\, and in person. They will also be available at the door as long as availability lasts – be sure to buy your ticket early!

DESCRIPTION:LOCAL AUTHORS GATHER \nThe Garibaldi Museum is sponsoring their TillaBook Fair at the museum on Saturday\, November 18\, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Fourteen authors from Tillamook County will be on hand to sign and discuss their books\, with some authors choosing to read excerpts as well as meet the public. \nSeveral genres will be available from mystery and suspense to historical non-fiction about Tillamook County as well as historical fiction. Gardening how-to\, poetry and philosophical self-help\, outdoor guidebooks\, fantasy\, and Christian non-fiction will all be represented. \nAuthors include Jennifer Greer\, Neal Lemery\, Alexandra Mason\, Athena\, Adam Sawyer\, Deborah Lincoln\, and Jerry Sutherland. Sally Rissel\, Marc Johnson\, Jennifer Chamberlin\, Carla Albright\, Brad Ayers\, Brian Ratty and Rhonda Reynolds will also be participating. \nThis is the perfect way to start your holiday shopping and support local authors and the Garibaldi Museum at the same time. The Museum is located at 112 Garibaldi Avenue in Garibaldi. Regular museum hours are Thursdays through Mondays from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. DESCRIPTION:Nestucca\, Neskowin\, and Sand Lake Watersheds Council (NNSLWC) and Pelican Brewing Company are hosting a Science and Beers at the Pub event on Tuesday\, November 14th titled: “Beavers and Salmon: A Tail as Old as Time” presented by Brilyn Brecka a beaver biologist for Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife.\n\nPlease join us as Brilyn Brecka gives a presentation on beaver management in Oregon and how intertwined the lives of beavers and salmon are. She will explain how for thousands of years\, beavers and salmon have co-evolved\, creating a relationship between the two species and how they generate several important benefits to salmon restoration and recovery in coastal systems. Along with how consequently\, restoration projects that focus on creating and maintaining beaver and beaver-modified habitats can have a trickle-down effect on salmon populations\, not to mention other benefits to both humans and the environment.\n\nThe event is free and open to the public.
