SUMMARY:The 2024 First Annual “Where The F Is Chuck™” Music Festival
DESCRIPTION:Looking for something to do at the coast this summer? Well\, look no further as the 2024 “First Annual Where The F Is Chuck™” music concert has its inaugural show Saturday August 3rd at the port of Garibaldi. Legendary local 90’s alternative rock band Red Tide will be joined by Hollywood based dark wave masters of the stage Pete Repeat for a special memorial concert in memory of Charles “Chuck” DeRieux. Doors at 3:30pm followed shortly by opening act Mercury Coast. Tickets are a suggested donation of $20 per person. So come one and come all to the ocean breezes near the land of good cheeses. More specifically come to the very big white event tent at 107 Jerry Creasy Way in Garibaldi 97118. The easiest\, and most correct\, way to find directions is on Google Maps by entering “Port of Garibaldi Event Tent” in the search field. They all look forward to seeing you all from the stage!

DESCRIPTION:Debra Giannini to perform in the 2024 Summer Music Series at the Maxwell Park Library Stage at the Tillamook Main Library on Friday\, August 2nd at noon. \nA native of Chicago (Arlington Heights) and an interdisciplinary artist\, Debra Giannini came to Portland\, Oregon to work on the documentary film “Soleri’s Cities: Architecture for the Planet Earth and Beyond” beginning in 1990\, and settled in the Mount Tabor neighborhood in 1992. A self-described “song catcher” she has used her voice and instrumental talents to support traditional and folk music\, dance/movement arts\, songwriting and performance art in all of the places she has lived\, with an Honorable Mention/Arizona Songwriters Association (1990) and inclusion as a lead track on the Portland Folk Music Society’s complication CD “Portland Folk” (2003) She has produced recordings and supported Medicine Whistle Studios (Portland) and Waterbug Records (Chicago) and toured England\, Ireland and Scotland. She holds a BA Psychology: Expressive Therapy with Dance/Movement Concentration (Marylhurst University) a Masters of Health Arts & Sciences (Goddard College) and is a proponent of life-long learning. \nDebra works in health care\, wellness and prevention by day\, and calls the Rose City Book Pub her public “living room” where she regularly performs and presents Winter Solstice and St. Paddy’s Day concerts. Recognized for her civic and community work for spearheading “Safe Routes to Schools” and the Portland Pedestrian Plan\, as well as Portland’s Sustainable Lifestyle Campaign EcoTeam\, and City Repair Project\, she is a founder of the North American Bioregional Congresses\, and Debra is a long-time supporter of PFMS. She was partnered in life and music with Denny Mellor (d.2023) the multinstrumentalist\, luthier and instrument designer as the duo “Deb n’ Denny” and now lives in the Laurelhurst neighborhood. \nDebra offers a repertoire that includes her own new songs\, which focus on a sense of place\, and the best of contemporary folk music\, with traditional works that display the interdisciplinary interplay of music and literature. For the summer tour in August 2024\, suggested readings include the works of historian Robert Service and Tony Award winning composer and playwright Anais Mitchell’s “Working On A Song” which details her creative and writing process for the acclaimed “HADESTOWN” musical currently on Broadway and in London.

He collects and performs music of and for the Irish diaspora\, with a special focus on Lake County\, Oregon. \nIn 2023\, Corey contributed a small part to guitar legend Muriel Anderson’s Sailing Dreams. Corey recorded the album Lark (2009) with celtic fusion group Ordinance and continues to serve as a sideman with a variety of acts in multiple genres. As a solo artist\, he performs classic Irish ballads\, songs of Irish history\, and the ocassional corrido or country song.

Alluring melodies\, compelling arrangements\, and perceptive\, unapologetic lyrics land as a ferocious\, buttery roar.\nThe result: something altogether timeless and new. And getting noticed. \nConvery’s latest album Miles Awake boasts polished lyrics and sophisticated soundscapes\, backed by a group of distinguished musicians and co-produced with bandmate and collaborator Timothy Karplus. The music encompasses life’s diverse experiences\, joyous and challenging. While songs like Goddamn Disaster and Extraordinary Love deliver a powerful emotional punch\, Convery still leaves room for sensuality and tenderness in songs like Look Out Below and Let’s Run Away. Themes of bravery and self-preservation resonate throughout.\n\nDespite roadblocks and limitations\, Convery’s dedication to music has prevailed and her story is shared throughout her work. Born and raised in Portland\, OR\, Katelyn graduated from U of O with a degree in journalism in 2007 then spent eight years living abroad.  She now splits time between Portland and the Oregon Coast. Katelyn plays all over the world and continues to gain appreciators of her music with each live show.

DESCRIPTION:Mark your calendars for the first Saturday in June and get ready for non-stop fun on the Nehalem Bay! \nScheduled to coincide with Free Fishing Weekend\, the Crab Derby is a fundraising event for two local charities – the MuddNick Foundation of Manzanita\, OR – whose mission is to broaden the horizons of deserving children in greater Nehalem Bay and North Tillamook County and Animal Haven By The Sea Rescue in Nehalem\, OR – dedicated to helping animals that are lost\, in distress\, in need of a home\, food or medical attention and are the only animal rescue in North Tillamook County. Hosted by Kelly’s Brighton Marina\, this unique event is one of the favorite summer activites for outdoor enthusiasts and families alike! \nKelly’s Brighton Marina will release 26 tagged crabs on Saturday and a $10 per ticket entry fee is required to participate in the Crab Derby\, with proceeds from ticket sales going to the sponsored charities. All captured tagged crabs must be returned to the marina by 5:00pm and a drawing will be held to determine the top prize of $1\,000 cash. Live music\, games\, crafts\, many great vendors\, raffles\, and a wide array of prizes round out an exciting event that we hope will become an annual tradition for all who attend! \n… \nAn event of this magnitude is not possible without the generosity and support of the entire community. Volunteers\, gift basket items\, and donated prizes are always greatly appreciated.
