We can’t identify all the faces. Maybe you can help us identify your ancestors? \nFormation of Tillamook Pioneer Association\, May 25\, 1934\nThe association idea to preserve our Tillamook County history started at a birthday party for Rhoda Quick Johnson in 1934. Rhoda loved lemon pie so our refreshments will assuredly have a lemon theme! \nTCPA 90th Anniversary Celebration – May\, 2024 – Building Community Through History \n\nAll Pioneers should have received an invitation in the mail to the 90th Anniversary Exhibit\nAlong with the invitation you’ll also receive a “Golden Ticket”. SUMMARY:Neskowin Chamber Music-Spanish Brass
DESCRIPTION:Spanish Brass will embark on three tours in the United States this year\, starting the first one on January 5. A month of concerts\, educational performances\, and masterclasses will take them through Hawai’i\, Illinois\, New York\, Oregon\, California\, and Texas. The Kiawanda Community Center is a perfect setting for the group to play and enchant Pacific City and surrounding communities on Sunday\, January 21. 2024 from 3-5pm. \nDuring this tour\, the quintet will present their new artistic proposal\, celebrating their 35th anniversary by returning to their purest roots as a brass quintet. They will intertwine some of the most significant works from their career with new compositions or adaptations written expressly for the occasion. \nFounded in 1989\, Spanish Brass has graced more than 2\,000 stages worldwide and released thirty-two albums. In 1996\, it won the First Prize at the 6th International Competition for Brass Quintets “Ville de Narbonne” (France)\, considered the most prestigious for this formation. In 2017\, it received the I Bankia Prize for Musical Talent in the Valencian Community\, and in 2019\, the Espai Ter Music Prize in Torroella de Montgrí for the project Mira si hem corregut terres… They hold five Carles Santos Awards by the Valencian Institute of Culture\, and in 2020\, they received the National Music Prize in the Interpretation category by the Ministry of Culture of Spain. \nSpanish Brass has performed in the world’s most important festivals\, performed at the Prince of Asturias Awards ceremony (1995)\, and annually organizes two brass festivals: Spanish Brass Alzira-SBALZ (www.sbalz.com) and Brassurround Torrent (www.brassurround.com). \nSpanish Brass plays with Shires trumpets\, Paxman horn\, Shires trombone\, and Melton tuba\, using Romera Brass mouthpieces and mutes\, along with the BlackBinder app. Additionally\, it uses and owns Bags\, a brand of instrument cases. \nSpanish Brass is supported by the Institut Valencià de Cultura and the Ministry of Culture-INAEM. \nAdmission: $20 at the door\, $5 under 18 yrs.\nContact: Colleen Hofer 360-513-7632\nAdmission at Door Cash or Check \nneskowinchambermusic101@gmail.com

The much-anticipated reunion concert is not only a return to the stage for Red Tide\, but also a benefit for the Bay City Arts Center. Entry is a suggested donation of $20 for general admission and $10 for students.

DESCRIPTION:ORCHESTRA PRESENTS NOVEMBER CONCERTS \nThe North Oregon Coast Symphony begins its 2023-2024 season with two classical music concerts in November. The programs will feature two soloists. Diane Amos will play the Andante movement from Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 21\, made famous in the 1967 movie Elvira Madigan. Jude Matulich-Hall will play the spooky violin solo inviting the skeletons to dance in Saint-Saëns’s Danse Macabre. \nOther selections will include Mendelssohn’s Wedding March\, Strauss’s Blue Danube Waltz\, Berlioz’s March Troyenne\, Sibelius’s Finlandia\, and Rimsky- Karsakov’s Procession of the Nobles. \nThe orchestra will perform the concerts on\,Saturday\, November 18 at St. Catherine Episcopal Church (36335 N. Hwy. 101\, Nehalem\, OR) beginning at 3 pm\, and Sunday\, November 19\, at the Charlene Larsen Performing Arts Center (588 16th St.\, Astoria\, OR) beginning at 3 pm. \nAdmission for adults is $10; youth 18 and under are free\, but those 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets will be sold at the door for the St. Catherine concert (cash or personal check only). You will be up close and personal with a world class act that has played big festivals like Lollapalooza and SxSW and opened for artists like Maria McKee and David Duchovny (X-files\, Californication). It is in this kind of setting where she can casually joke and communicate with the audience that her strength as a performer shines the most. \nHer delicate songs are performed in an intimate way\, showing off Sofia’s angelic voice enhanced only by a tasteful mix of harmonies and delays\, accompanied by the steady picking of her acoustic guitar and the rhythm section consisting of her own two feet\, bells and a stomp box. \n2020 was the year when Swedish singer/songwriter Sofia Talvik was going on tour to promote her new album Paws of a Bear\, but that all went down the drain when the world was hit with the Covid pandemic. Some of the resources include programs for food\, shelter\, addiction\, writer’s group\, single mom’s\, Veteran’s resources\, local dining rooms for people who need a meal\, hiking groups\, physical fitness\, and so much more! We will have pastors from area churches available to meet\, greet\, and ask questions. \nThe expo part of the day goes from 1pm-630pm.
