SUMMARY:Tillamook Main Library Storytime: Preschool
DESCRIPTION:Preschool storytime (PS) on Wed @ 10; developmentally appropriate for 3-5 yos; music\, stories\, interactive play and lots of laughs! In this class little begin to learn about a leader at the front of the room\, how to hold their wiggles\, listening and sitting still. When a child is transitioning from TT to PS my expectation is that they will sit for 5-10 minutes and then they might go play. I do not force them to sit still if they are not ready to. \nA couple of things about the children’s room that might set you at ease: \n\nThere is no expectation that it will be a quiet zone; kids are kids and they are allowed to act like themselves in the children’s room.\nOnly 2 hard and fast rules: No Running & No Screaming.\nIf your child needs a snack\, feed them!

SUMMARY:October Artist of the Month
DESCRIPTION: Friday October 6th from 5-7pm\, our main floor and upstairs gallery will feature artwork by local artists Eric Sappington & Brittany Sheffield. This monthly event is free and open to the public. \nEric Sappington: I’ve lived on the Oregon coast for the last 27 years. I moved here from the Midwest to be inspired in my songwriting as well as my art. I paint whatever emotions I have in the moment I have been working on\, or working through. Most of the time I don’t think about what I’m painting\, I just do it. This can turn into a series or just a one off abstract blow out. The show is all about transitioning. Let’s see where it takes me.  \nBrittany Sheffield: I am a 33 year old wife and mother of four. I was born and raised in Tillamook. Art has always been a passion of mine even from a young age. This past year I started getting back into painting as an outlet and way to relax between work\, kids and school. I’ve really enjoyed finding things that have challenged me creatively. \n

SUMMARY:Where People Walked and Why
DESCRIPTION:Where People Walked and Why\, people have been in Tillamook County for a long time and for much of that time they walked and traveled by water in canoes.  These trails are still there but you will not find them in guide books\, maps or using an internet search engine.  With a trained eye and some help form modern technology these trails\, or reasonable guesses of where they were\, do make themselves visible.  That is what we will explore the why someone may have walked somewhere and where they walked. Tuesdays\, beginning September 27 in room 107 at TBCC .

SUMMARY:First Time Homebuyer Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Curious about buying a home?\nTired of the instability of renting?\nNot sure how a mortgage works or whether you’re ready?\nFreaked out by the process?\nBuying a house is a huge leap- some people describe themselves as scared\, overwhelmed by the process\, not sure where to start\, or worried they won’t qualify. This workshop is designed to meet you where you are: even if that’s a few years away from making the leap.\nTogether\, Denise and Sierra will introduce the process\, explaining the roles of real estate agent and lender\, what you’ll need to have ready for each step: prequalification\, making an offer\, loan application\, escrow\, and closing. We’ll run through some real time scenarios with properties that are currently on the market\, and would be happy to talk out any questions or scenarios that you’re going through. Registration is not required\, and attending the workshop is not a commitment of any kind.\nDenise Prothe is a Senior Loan Officer with Guild Mortgage\, whose experience with lending in Oregon and in rural communities makes her an invaluable resource for her clients. Whether you are ready now or wondering what steps you can start to make now to best position you\, Denise is an incredible resource\, and this is a great chance to meet her.\nSierra Lauder is a licensed Real Estate Broker in the State of Oregon\, working with Coast Real Estate Professionals. Relocating to Tillamook County almost 20 years ago\, Sierra spent almost 12 years on rural farm acreage in south county before moving in to the walk-able heart of downtown Tillamook. While Team Headquarters (the Coast Real Estate Professionals Office) is located in Nehalem\, Sierra is happy to explore homes with you all along the north coast\, and her priority is that you find the best fit for your family.
