DESCRIPTION:Where People Walked and Why\, people have been in Tillamook County for a long time and for much of that time they walked and traveled by water in canoes.  These trails are still there but you will not find them in guide books\, maps or using an internet search engine.  With a trained eye and some help form modern technology these trails\, or reasonable guesses of where they were\, do make themselves visible.  That is what we will explore the why someone may have walked somewhere and where they walked. DESCRIPTION:Tillamook Vision Center is sponsoring a public treasure hunt\, Find the Eye.  We have hidden a glass eye sculpture somewhere out on the North Oregon Coast.  The prize for finding and returning it is $5\,000.  The opening day is August 28th and will continue until the Eye is found or September 25th when we will give the location.  Both residents and non-residents are eligible to play\, but only those registered for the event will be entitled to the whole payout.  Registration is $30 and includes the official event T-shirt which you must be wearing when you find the Eye.  Registration and t-shirts will be open starting August 19th.  If a non registered hunter finds they eye\, the total prize lowers to $1\,500. \nGet all the rules\, requirements\, and hints on our website: www.Find-the-Eye.com or the Facebook page Find the Eye and Tillamook Vision Center.

Click the link below to get your FREE tickets today! \nSpecial guest presenter Dan Petkunas an F-4 pilot and Weapons Officer\, will present on his 222 combat missions in Vietnam\, culminating in the Christmas Bombings of 1972.  \nIf fighter pilots and crew members have nine lives\, Dan Petkunas expended at least seven of them during his combat tour. \nIn 1972\, Dan was assigned to the 13th Tactical Fighter Squadron at Udorn Royal Thai Air Base in Thailand and began flying bombing runs and missions to protect other aircraft\, including B-52 bombers\, A-7s\, F-105s\, and additional F-4s. As a Weapons System Officer\, Petkunas controlled the F-4’s back seat\, working in tandem with the pilot. \nDan came back from his tour of duty with the Distinguished Flying Cross\, other medals and devices\, join Dan and hear about the air war in Vietnam during its final year.
