DESCRIPTION:RED TIDE REUNION CONCERT- Get Tickets in Advance! \nFriday November 24th at 7pm\, Red Tide\, the iconic 90’s heavy alternative rock band from Tillamook\, is reuniting for a one-night-only concert at the Bay City Arts Center on November 24th at 7pm. The three-piece band formed in 1995\, comprising guitarist and singer Drew DeRieux\, drummer and singer Mike Reeves\, and bassist Brandon Affolter\, played shows throughout the 90’s both in Portland and as a sought-after coastal party band. The much-anticipated reunion concert is not only a return to the stage for Red Tide\, but also a benefit for the Bay City Arts Center. Entry is a suggested donation of $20 for general admission and $10 for students.

DESCRIPTION: Friday October 6th from 5-7pm\, our main floor and upstairs gallery will feature artwork by local artists Eric Sappington & Brittany Sheffield. This monthly event is free and open to the public. \nEric Sappington: I’ve lived on the Oregon coast for the last 27 years. I moved here from the Midwest to be inspired in my songwriting as well as my art. I paint whatever emotions I have in the moment I have been working on\, or working through. Most of the time I don’t think about what I’m painting\, I just do it. This can turn into a series or just a one off abstract blow out. The show is all about transitioning. Let’s see where it takes me.  \nBrittany Sheffield: I am a 33 year old wife and mother of four. I was born and raised in Tillamook. Art has always been a passion of mine even from a young age. This past year I started getting back into painting as an outlet and way to relax between work\, kids and school. I’ve really enjoyed finding things that have challenged me creatively. \n

DESCRIPTION:August 19th & 20th from 10am- 4pm\, join us for our Discovery in Stone. Our workshop allows participants\, with no experience needed\, to learn the ancient practice of hand carving stone. Tuition is by donation\, drop-ins welcome\, instructors on hand\, and all materials are provided! Please plan to bring your own lunch or visit a local place. If the weather is nice\, we’ll tap-tap-tap the days away outside – otherwise we’ll move onto the porches or into the art room. Share with a friend – it’s such a unique experience that’s both meditative and revealing. Get to know a stone and discover what it has to show to you! Tuition is by donation. DESCRIPTION:The Tillamook County Suicide Prevention Coalition will be holding a free family friendly rock painting event on May 6th at the Bay City Arts Center from 10AM-2PM. Paint and painting supplies will be available. The event will have an information table where community members can learn about suicide prevention. At the event\, community members will be encouraged to paint positive messages on rocks including the new 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. \n  \nThe Tillamook County Suicide Prevention Coalition is a group of Tillamook County residents who are dedicated to suicide prevention and support. The coalition meets once a month to discuss strategies to raise awareness of suicide prevention resources\, raise awareness of crisis supports\, promote prevention education\, and plan community events in Tillamook County. \n
